tuesdays off days

off as in i don't work.  they're very "on" for me otherwise.  i get a day to be creative around the house, shop, work on my etsy shop with my friend olga, read read read!  it's just one day though - not that i get ALL that done in one little journee (zhoor-nay), but i sure do appreciate a tuesday these days :)

i wore this today - this skirt is a brand new favorite.  i had it for a good while, but never really wore it.  until today!  and now i'm selling it on my shop (will be posted soon!)

noodle just yawned and i got a whiff of her crazy breath.  she's been sleeping upwards of 5 hours, this one.  geez!

~

wes and i finally watched september issue and i was so overly inspired by grace coddington.  she's a genius, and yet so simple.  her style is timeless.  she's kind, but she puts her foot down.  she's adorable!! i particularly like the scenes the camera taped following her down the hall and her crazy big red hair bounces against her black outfit.  she's gorgeous and she's got such a beautiful character, not to mention she produces brilliant stylist work.

well that will be all.  i bestow on you a wonderful night.  i should be in bed a half an hour ago (to get at least 6.5 hours of sleep, yo).  i suck at forcing myself to sleep enough.

all that anticipation

and here i am.  it would all be over tomorrow if it wasn't for 'yelizabeta'.  the cool immigrant name and a bit of a curse too.  long story short, state board had found a name discrepancy and will be rescheduling. oh well, i guess i needed more time to. study.

but on a funner note - here is an unofficial start to my unofficial 'wish list'.  i don't know, xmas i guess, is it too soon, in hopes of my husband somehow venturing to read my blog.

to start - in the shoe department

dulce vita's amsterdam platform pump sold by uo.  i'm so into comfortable heels, what can i say?  these are heels.

with regard to jewelry - this bear ring is quite admirable.  i actually spotted ms coury of fancytreehouse wearing an enviable antler one by sea of bees jewelry, and followed the link to a treasure chest.  any item from that website will do, honey :)

good night y'all!

anxious

because i should be enjoying the gloomy weather studying at a old soul - studying.  crap.  i hate saying crap, but i don't like to cuss in public.  even in writing.  so i say stupid words like 'crap'.

besides me needing to be studying, i'm excitedly anxious because i just purchased this lovely garment from magic2art on etsy:

besides having purchased this garment, i'm watching dexter - AND studying.  so 50% studying now and then 100% studying when wes gets home.  we'll go out - he could read and study (he studies just for himself - weirdo) or help me study, and i'll study.

i may be blowing this state board thing out of proportion, but honestly, i don't care to do it again.  ever.

finally, i'm a bit anxious because i started a lookbook.  now i'm really exposed.  oh well.  like it or leave it people.

stupid dexter.

tsbeen a while

since i've been this sick.  after reading a bit and even studying for state board (not to mention the shot of vodka), i found myself on youtube and surfing the web - normally surfing the web overwhelms and stresses me out in a sense because of how much there is to see and know and yet there's so much you can covet/look at/listen to in a lazy lethargic state.  ya know?

anyway - i've taken an ear to kid cudi's sound and am loving it.  here's a performance he did on conan very early this year called pursuit of happiness ft. mgmt:

and a cover of the very song by lissie (un-censored version, fyi) which i thought was pretty lovely as well (i don't promote drunk driving, though - it's in the song a bit:)

sorry - one more.  this is 'canadian girl' by the walkmen.  it makes me want to dance, unreservedly.  i only do that at concerts, and MAYBE weddings if i had a drink or two. the song actually starts at exactly 50 seconds if you want to skip through all the talk:

on another note - i would seriously appreciate it if the cold got here already?  i have purchased a couple of vintage coats over the last couple of weeks, and would like to wear one.  and as if i hadn't had enough to keep me warm, i sense a strong urge to purchase this blanket coat from uo:

i'll sell all my other ones if i have to, haha.  i'll prolly sell them anyway - then i'd be left with no choice. and that is my plan.

that's it for now.  i need to stop looking at screens!!

love ya

quelle surprise

ok. so i thought we'd be out on the floor cutting hair by the end of the month.

guess not. guess it's on monday. that means we got a 'test-out' on friday. it's not a big dealio really - just a bunch of procedures that include tiny steps you never think about. kind of like state board, but not as exponentially stressful. just a bit stressful now that i know it's this friday and not two weeks from now like we were originally told.

that's pretty much all for tonight. i've had a headache since today's merger meeting at work (merger meeting - that term doesn't seem to belong in this blog provided what i normally blog about). basically our company merged with another - far larger - one. they do the same thing we do but now we're partnering with them to meet all our extensive client needs - AND we're being better equipped. to that i'll toast.

go leadership.

oh, but ya. i blame the headache mostly on the tiny print in the power point presentations. of a sharper nature. dude - who cares.

k, now i want to hang out with wes to the max. he was giving me a little head massage while watching hero's and i think i'll ask for a repeat performance. ha.

and i'm in love with beach house's newest album - teen dreams. i was almost a few minutes late to work today because i wanted to hear the rest of the song in my car. very responsible elizabeth.

i'll leave you with this ensemble i had to take a second look at on lookbook.nu today
love the combo of that gorgeous poncho with the thigh-high boots. i've been looking for a pair of boots like that for eons. poor wes tried to find me some for xmas and was at a loss trying to figure out what i'd like better. instead he got me other amazing things (see xmas post) and this card he sewed himself. i mean. i don't often get weepy - but i could not get a hold of myself when he gave me this:

i had to pixelize what he wrote - i don't think he'll appreciate me posting his special message to me on the triple dub

tangents. i mean what's a post without some sort of pictures. it's like reading the long chapters of a book! the longer my posts and far-reaching the tangents, the more images and color i have to post to compensate. common sense. at least i owe you folks that much, hehe.

well, i think i just remembered somewhere up there i wrote this is it for the night. it's like saying 'okay this is my last song' and proceeding with like ten more. i don't apologize (i apologize too much i realize), but i do acknowledge that not all peeps enjoy remedial little tidbits on my life. but then again....well. anyways. thanks for checking in yet again.

merry sundown (how many other ways can you think of saying 'good evening')

2010 rumpus

2010. i'm excited. this month consists of determining how i'm going to manage putting in a lot more time towards my 1600 hours. and i'm determined to finish this year - hopefully september october ish. that means less time at my job which means less income, if any *wince*. that's for a later post.

anyway - just a few images of our new years wild rumpus. 'all is love' folks (karen o & the kids).

the cork flew clear across the pool and wes thought it was the most hilarious thing. i wish this pic was less exposed, but i guess now that i took it i kind of like the effect.

did i ever mention that i've been wearing that fur hood every single day since xmas?

count down
i couldn't get over la raye's beautiful top. it's a little girls' dress turned tunic. just the fiercest thing i've ever seen

and wes just hollered with his super elegant champagne glass in hand :)

it just so happened that it was also this old man's bday

we later warmed up in the spa over wine and snacks - and water of course (don't do spa without water to avoid feeling dizzy or faint) - talking about new years resolutions and such. and of course i thought it was the perfect photo op provided we all felt like sitting still long enough for a slower shutter (to achieve a less grainy look per wesley's request). i couldn't stop giggling every single time.

--

wes and i just finished watching the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford - based on ron hanson's novel of the same title (same guy who wrote one of my favorite stories - atticus). really sad story to be completely honest. amazing cinematography. buuuut - this ain't no book review blog is it? oh well so what.

on a different note, i was sewing the trim of the curtain separating our kitchen from the washing room and my needle got jammed. i'm such a rookie with sewing it's embarrassing. it's all still there - curtain jammed in the machine - and i'm trying to figure out (without breaking it of course) what i did wrong. most likely the wrong needle for the fabric. don't worry i'll figure it out soon enough. goal being to keep the machine in operating condition.

grand.

well, that's my queue. i'll try to be in bed tonight sometime before 2am this time. it's a bad habit wes and i are cultivating. i don't mind so much staying up late as much as i hate waking up around noon. that's a whole morning i could have spent doing something wonderful.

good nights ladies and gents. (i think the only gent reading this would be my husband if i'm lucky - so i guess ladies and wes, rather - haha)

before the year is out - t-shirt tribute to 2009

i have been enjoying the simplicity of tshirts. just yesterday i forgot my school attire at home so i had to make a lunch-time dash to a place i knew would have something i enjoyed in grey and/or black - urban outfitters. it helps that they had a huge sale :) so i got these pants that fit better than i expected for 9.99 and two v-neck tee's for $24 (both grey - one darker than the other). i like them somewhat loose, and i like them drapey. i ended up wearing them as an outfit to school - rather simple, but loved it. especially with my furry hoody (yet another uo item - a gift from none other than my lover). the only sucky thing is it's way too cold to wear just a tshirt these days, but for the sake of capturing a photo it's a worthy cause :-)

this was my lunchtime attempt at a self-portrait photo shoot. i found a woodsy spot away from others, and sure enough, just as i set up - people. people came. it's a freaking trail folks, let's move it along. they stood there for a long conversation. after pretending like i was taking pics of the 'scenery', i said the heck with it - set up and went along with my business. so what who cares.

my other favorite t lately

my little bro is a tie-dye fiend. i keep telling him i'll open and manage an etsy shop for him. he just has to do all the tie-dying work. he'd rather snowboard. regardless, any orders?

speaking of t-shirts - i found this on style.com and want it. it's by Christopher Kane and can be found on net-a-porter. i can't afford it, but maybe you can :)

kind of embarrassing but i just found out i can post my pics larger than i have been in previous posts. sorry about the teensy weensy pics down below.

dang.

what time is it even? i'm working a tad slower since wes is updating my mac - i'm working from his pc. i won't bash - bashing is so 2009

so the minute i got home today i went into sorting mode and started sorting and re-sorting stuff - like old memorabilia. i found my old diary and greeting cards and letters from friends. i'm such a sentimental person. so much stuff - such little space. it's overwhelming. now there are a few piles sitting here on the floor-ish: to shred, to recycle, to take to the garage, to donate, bla bla bla. can i get any more tired at 2:21 am? sleeping in is definitely part of the plan tomorrow (we're off work till monday - yay!)

well, this wraps it up. i believe this is this year's last post (unless i get a chance to put something up tomorrow). like i said in earlier posts. overzealous.

hope you have a wonderful new years. see ya.
