last day at my office job in the suburbs tomorrow.  and i'm so excited to spend our weekend in the bay!  two things that are making me a happy american citizen.

ps - this week has been crazier than expected.  i hope i'm still ok for the readers that actually check to see if i have new items posted to my shop.  i promised last post that i'd do it, but i'm telling you.  this past week was greedy for my time with two jobs and all.  i did sell a couple of items, for which i am also very grateful (never understood why the word for "appreciative" is spelled without the 'e' in "great").

thanks for stopping by, as always :)

update with phone pics.

i do pologize.  we lent our camera to some friends.

today after training at my new job i hit up bows and arrows randomly.  they're moving and are trying to get rid of their entire inventory so all clothes are 75% off!  i was taking pics of things i was trying on to get a different perspective than just my view in the mirror - and it worked (whatever that means, haha).  i ended up buying this vintage burnt orange number.  it was pretty 'used' - but it's so seventies with the tassles and that's been quite the inspiring era for me, clothes-wise. so the price cut justified it.  winning.

wes has been so sweet taking walks with me lately.  it's not his favorite - he likes to have a goal in mind rather than just walking aimlessly, but every time we do, he ends up having fun.  probably because i crack him up with my jokes and stumbling - i seriously trip over everything.  our latest walk we stumbled upon this cute little guy - he/she was on this tiny little bench i think was perfectly made just for him/her.

(all) the cats in our neighborhood are so so friendly - they approach YOU, it's crazy and cute.

that is all for now - i must say i've been lagging on my shop, but have found myself again (weird week, sorry!) and will post new items shortly (yep, including the eyelet skirt from two posts ago.  i think.  i've been kind of rediscovering and loving it).  here are two recent items i desire from some of my favorite etsy shops

ok.  i leave you with this little one.  she makes me go crazy.  i wish i can jump through my computer when skyping to snuggle with her.  this is her with an awkward flower headband.  my sister (who i really wish resumed updating her lovely blog, btw) was telling me how stella is not really a headband girl.  she had to go get one to demonstrate.  i didn't think it was true, but here it is.  i mean, she's adorable with it, but it's just not her, you know (we tried it from the side, and the center)

i know it's a picture of a screen but you get the idea.

night! want to make it out to the market tomorrow morning.

oh, and i'm excited for monday night for two reasons a) i'll be getting my trim from one of the ladies at work (hopefully) and 2) it's bbc jane eyre and apple pie night at olga's house!

i would like to wear my hair down more

i think i'm ready to trim ever so little off the ends to make it like an even (long) bob.  kind of like what ms alexa chung has going on.

tuesdays off days

off as in i don't work.  they're very "on" for me otherwise.  i get a day to be creative around the house, shop, work on my etsy shop with my friend olga, read read read!  it's just one day though - not that i get ALL that done in one little journee (zhoor-nay), but i sure do appreciate a tuesday these days :)

i wore this today - this skirt is a brand new favorite.  i had it for a good while, but never really wore it.  until today!  and now i'm selling it on my shop (will be posted soon!)

noodle just yawned and i got a whiff of her crazy breath.  she's been sleeping upwards of 5 hours, this one.  geez!

~

wes and i finally watched september issue and i was so overly inspired by grace coddington.  she's a genius, and yet so simple.  her style is timeless.  she's kind, but she puts her foot down.  she's adorable!! i particularly like the scenes the camera taped following her down the hall and her crazy big red hair bounces against her black outfit.  she's gorgeous and she's got such a beautiful character, not to mention she produces brilliant stylist work.

well that will be all.  i bestow on you a wonderful night.  i should be in bed a half an hour ago (to get at least 6.5 hours of sleep, yo).  i suck at forcing myself to sleep enough.

i also did make up and hair for one of the designers at the spring bazaar (no not the magazine - i wish) runway show by freestyle, but alas, i never took down the name of the photographer that was taking pics effectively displaying my work during the hustle and bustle :)

thursday

we took another walk in our hood.  not that i'm going to make a habit of posting only when we walk, but here it is.

someone had this character on their tree.  we thought it was noteworthy.

in other news - i added several items to my shop - including the midi skirt and dress shown below (dress is tucked into skirt)

we sold our car.  i didn't think it would sell that fast.  as i was approaching our house, i saw a stranger driving off in my mini :(  i'm not normally attached to cars, but that was a fun one.  i know i know - we always sell stuff!  but you know what, times are tough and gas prices are climbing to past $4 (cooper "s" eats premium) and if something breaks, it costs thousands to fix, ETC.  it was fun while it lasted.  anyway - it's nice to have a fella who knows these things.  my whole point is i'm going to miss it.  i knew i would, though so there ya have it.  smiley face.

ALSO - wes and i have been catching up on american idol, and we've decided that ryan seacrest is hilarious. here's him making fun of paul mcdonald - one of the more 'eclectic' contestants

nightey night!!

i used to hate mondays.  now they're simply the day before my next day off.  which, as miley cyrus would put it, "i guess is pretty cool!"

IMG_4803

tonight wes and i went for a little walk in the crisp cold to the park and back.  we need to do that more.  we talk about the most foolish and insightful matters - all on the same walk. for example we were thinking how cool it would be if we created this new workout tape/class which was all about this 'spaz out' science.  all it would consist of is spazzing out - and we would mark it proprietary. i guess it's not that funny in retrospect.  i thought it was hysterical.  but honestly - have you ever tried it?

IMG_4808

i love when people aren't shy and they let their curtains stay open even when its dark so i can see how they fancied up their houses.  i know, i lurk.  i always have.  my sister and i used to be shameless when my dad happened to drive through really nice neighborhoods.  i think he knew our fascination so he did it for us (aww!).

IMG_4805
this house, however, rarely opens their curtains, but it's one of my favs.  you can't tell from this pic, but it's very tattered.  i love the combination of a tattered/paint scratched house, with phenomenal evening lighting.  they have that.  except this pic does it no justice :)
