perm and open mic!

just got back from fox & goose (what a fun spin on a monday, eh) where our lady suz was supposed to perform but we found out she's #17 out of, like 17?  i still had my drink since i was there and we all had a coupla good laughs - one of which was me talking about me.  i told them about my attempt at smooth-talking a feller i had a crush on many years ago at that same place.  it went like this - on my way out the door i saw him standing in my peripheral vision and i came up to him and said "you did a great job tonight" - and before giving him a chance to respond i said "well havagoodnight" and darted out the door.  smooth elizabeth.  oh well - wes came along soon thereafter anyway - all the better if you know whatamean.  freaking love of my life if i ever.  

first official perm today!  she was a great lady, mardy.  she happened to be the grandma of a buddy of ours, chris peterson, who resides in spain these days.  musician, social butterfly, and missionary.  anywho - that did me some good practice and i retained some extra dollars towards my miscellaneous fund - which i want to say goes towards new shears, but lets be honest - it's all dinner and coffee money.  i'm such a failure.

one year ago today - sacramento was at 100 degrees.  today was - a lot colder.  and windier.  and bi-polar overcast vs sunny.  so my favorite!

and what did i do after driving out to folsom for an early lunch with my girls?  slept.  and slept.  inspiring weather and all!  the body wins - sorry high weekend expectations.  i truly am my worst enemy sometimes.  


anyway - on another note, how brilliant is this?!  i always thought - there's gotta be a pretty way to display fugly little things people use when they think they're seriously decorating.  who knew.  and yet so simple.    

 well - multitasking will only take me so far.  i'm watching "uncertainty", a very stressful movie.  the character's mom is in tiny ways reminding me of my beautiful ma.  beautiful, but has her ways.  but that's not what's making it stressful.  it's the insane circumstances.  i better go.  with movies like this i always have to remind myself that i cannot control their decisions.  re-lax.

hada highlight/lowlight + cut today, which i took way too long on, but it's cool.  i spent the rest of the evening with some of the ladies making fun of people's facebook posts.  "alright - whose sick today?"

i'm a ghetto

i have inherited a gangsta walk.  sunday morning i woke up with what i call noodle legs - just inept.  no clue as to what the hell i did that caused such a disability.  lol - turns out i've been squatting for like three hours in a row when adorning the beautiful models at the fashion show this weekend: them sitting on a stool and all my materials laying on the floor.  it was like - grab curling iron, curl, put curling iron down.  squat stand squat stand.  anyway - i was on j st today just walking to my car and was so aware of my ghetto walk i just wanted to splain maself.

anyway.

wes had booked our anniversay 3-day weekend in monterey outskirts i can't wait!  i can't' just not wait - i'm already bummed for when it's over!  i hate when i do that - i ruin every exciting event in my life by grieving its end before its very arrival.  who does that?!

and i can't wait for the arrival of liska's polka dotted tank.  heads up i will have it on for several days in a row with my new skorts i bought from roseville hospice thrift.

'ello cheerio

i'm back holmes.  after a short leave of absence - unannounced might i add.

in a nutshell - these past few weeks have been a bit heavy for me.  in between workandschoolandworkandschool, i came up for breaths. a break is good for everyone i think.

anyway - work and school wasn't really the only thing going on - who am i kidding.  for one there was catalina island and long beach

i can't believe i took this long to update.  its not even worth posting my new hair since it's grown and faded so much already.  plus we sold our 50D camera (kept the lense though) and are waiting for the T2i to arrive.  we're not professional photographers (i know it's hard to believe) and wanted something lighter but with the same capabilities.  so we've been lagging in image dept. 

but i will share this great seating idea i found one of the selby shoots: 

i mean i know our place is a rental - but we've already painted walls and such - what's a couple of holes in the ceiling. 

and school?  well - it's been great - but i'm getting the "ready to test out" fever - even though i'm not even ready for it.  

finally there was last night.  i had the privilege to help ms karina douglas out with her spring fashion show, doing hair and make up for her models.  hopefully the photographer (whoever she is) will post those pics somewhere so i'll have them for reference.  i think i really like doing this stuff a lot.

anyway - thanks for checking in dears!  i know it's been a while.  and sorry for the diary-type writing - i feel so out of practice.
