mixed prints much?

i did.  yesterday actually.  i know it's kind of overkill on the editing into b&w or "yesteryear", but it helps with the really blah background(s) - like the red door, which you'd never know was red because it's now b&w.

the prints aren't that mixed, now that i think about it.  they're on the verge of mixed, but i think that's what i really like about this combo!  is that they could almost pass for a dress if they were both sowed together at the seams, what do you think?  either way.

oh - here's the other mini project i completed late late easter eve.  i'm talking like at midnight against any sort of better judgment, i pounded just one little nail into the wall - of course the same night my sweet neighbors returned from their exhausting trip.  but my logic was they were SO out of it, they couldn't even hear the pounding.  plus, it was just wes in the living room on the other side of this wall anyway.  PLUS i was working off the cappuccino i had from naked at like 10 - also against better judgment.  sorry am i really still talking about this?  i just wanted to have a mini collage to balance out the shelves we built, is all.

that black and white tear-drop piece was my doodling with charcoal on paper.  i kind of found it when i was going through our bookshelf (another mini proj) and found my ol' sketch book.

lately the looks in the chloe ads have been added to my lookbook/inspiration binder.  the uber smooth hair and subtly frayed edges, the color pallets of the outfits.  whut whut?

that is all for today.
muah - thanks for reading folks :)

canoodle

wes told me that was yesterday's word of the day.  it means "to indulge in caresses and fondling endearments".   did you have your share of canoodling yesterday? eh?

we spent the day brainstorming heavily on house projects and not going out - we're boring like that (to some that's boring :).  my creative wheel had rusted a bit - i sense that in pretty much everything i do (including what i wear, which is disappointing).  knowing that causes unnecessary anxiety - especially when i infuse myself with fantastic inspirations of online fashion bloggery.  it's supposed to be inspiring and fun - not a means for one to deem themselves inadequate and be discouraged.  i think that might be called 'inspiration anxiety' - what do people take for that?

pish tosh!  where was i?

wes and i want to get rid of our dresser and put up a plethora of shelves and racks where we could keep our clothes just folded and hung - out in the open (well maybe not everything).  we're running out of space for our stuff - and i like to keep myself on my toes.  I do occasionally (and regretfully) get rid of stuff, but that does not open up enough space, unfortunately.

so today - while i'm waiting for wes to get home early from work, i'm looking online for ideas and such. we're unofficially spending the day together sort of for valentines day since i have the day off.  our plan is to go out in the wind [i so love half overcast windy days] or just go somewhere and read.

anyway - i found these cute little mushrooms featured on the design sponge:

ok - wes be home now.   he's bickering about our neighbors wind-chimes (which i happen to love) LOL.   i gotta go.

chandeliers made of bike parts

wow

seriously.  i'd own one if you twisted my arm - i think our home needs a little simplifying and i'd be happy to exchange a couple of other items for one of these, that's for sure.

on another note, my fascination with the show dexter couldn't show up at a more inconvenient time.  i'm taking my state board test next tuesday and wes won't let me watch the new ones until i catch up.  i have 4 more seasons to go.  seriously the biggest distraction, bros.

anyway - i'll leave you with this outfit - i wore it the other day and hadn't the opportunity to post.  plus, i was trying out the middle part on my hairs. sort of - a very messy, perhaps mis-guided middle part.  having a reaaaaally hard time with the growing out of it.  i hoped i'd be creative enough to work with muh hairs at this stage :)

i'm featuring this gorgeous suede flight jacket and the button up western shirt.

it was raining in my coffee so i was trying to hurry it up with the posing.  but this is probably my favorite fall outfit and i'm tempted to re-wear it tomorra.  time saver!

dinner at my parents' house tonight was, as usual, a delight.  we always start with ambitious plans to 'go out', but end up back at their house for dinner.  going out is more stressful than fun.  particularly for me - just watching my ma order and try to decide on what to get is enough to keep me tense.  i like being at the house where i can force my little bro to stay downstairs and socialize with the family.  poor kid.  talk about contrived.  he secretly likes the attention :)
he wouldn't stand still.  and my ma was using my iphone to take pics.

finally, i've officially made this amazing wolf blanket our bed cover.  we bought it in july when we went camping to dillon beach - the purchase was definitely a desperate attempt to stay ward for the night.  it's always so cold there even during summers - blanket vendors have a permanent spot.

anyway - that is all.

here's the ladies doing my favorite thing - staring out the window(s).  any window is good

christmas 2009, etc

i've been trying to update for a few days now - too busy being lazy. which was awesome for once. technically, i wasn't that lazy - i read and finished a book. read AND finished. two separate actions. but...

i noticed that people are in such a hurry to tear all the christmas stuff down. seriously what gives. it's like midnight of the 26th strikes and all the peeps in the neighborhood drag their poor little tree out to the curb "where it belongs". anyways. i'm kind of bipolar with my xmas moods. one year i'm happy about it. next year i'm angry at it (not at the holiday itself, what people make out of it - you get the idea). what are ya gonna do.

k. let's get on with it. i like tangents. and i so sorry.

i found a place for the rest of the mustaches from la ray's party. didn't think i'd use them any time soon but the kitchen wall seemed a bit bare. like it was missing a mustache(s).

the thing hanging above it was just an anthropologie catalogue cover i used when making my silverware ornaments. i like how the spray paint left an imprint of the silverware on the ad so i thought, where else better to hang it but in the kitch? not that silverware has a particular tie to the kitchen (hence forks and spoons hanging from my tree). at least not at my house.

christmas was pretty special this year. mine and wes's second one. we've created somewhat of a tradition:

xmas eve at my parents'

my not so little brother

my dad and his box-cutter conveniently always located in his shirt pocket next to the pens and other things. always.

xmas morn at wesley's parents'

xmas day - just us.

my long awaited machine

penny and her comfy spots of choice

well, there were like a ton more where all that came from. i just had a wonderful time with family and especially wes. got so spoiled with spending time with him, it makes me so depressed to go back to work. it's almost unhealthy, these breaks. all at the same time - they make me realize how eager i am to move on to the next steps in my life - out of my 'office job' and everything that's attached to it - and into an 'industry' where i can spread my wings for lack of better terms. how's that for being vague. anyways.

industry might not have been the word, but never mind.

i guess i'm out for the night. thanks again for checking in (i like to pretend that you do). you don't even know.

wes is playing his ps3 (his gift from me this xmas - i got a great deal for it, mk. we're not rich. we're really not). he opened it up and was like "so you really don't care to see me much do you". i was all, "not with that sewing machine sitting on the desk". i like how i make it sound like i'm always going to be sewing. at least not while i'm working and schooling full-time, but i'll post things i (try to) make when i mess around with it k?

oooookay. this is seriously excessive. good night folks.
